Public transportation

The student village can be reached from S-Bahn station Adlershof. From there, it’s either a 10-minute walk or a short tram ride with the 63 or 61 to Karl-Ziegler-Straße. By S-Bahn, Alexanderplatz is 30 minutes away and Zoologischer Garten is less than 45 minutes away.

In the Area

Recreational opportunities abound just around the corner. Between the Groß-Berliner Damm, Hermann-Dorner-Allee and Wrightallee, is Park Adlershof, built on a former airfield. Here you can skate, cycle, go for a run or just take a walk. There’s another park in nearby Köpenick, which also offers cafes, restaurants, shops and even a museum in a historic castle.

South of Adlershof is the Lake District and Zeuthener See, Crossinsee and the Dahme, where you can get into nature for exercise and relaxation.

Berlin’s largest lake Müggelsee is reachable by bike in about a half an hour. It boasts many secluded beaches and beer gardens with their own breweries. The Tram 63 takes you directly from the Studentendorf (Stop: Karl-Ziegler-Straße) to Strandbad Müggelsee.

For passionate skaters, there is a 230km skate course easily accessible by regional train.

Shopping

With conveniently located supermarkets, bakeries, weekly markets, pharmacies and doctor offices right off campus, you can run all your daily errands in no time. If you are looking for more options, the largest shopping center in Berlin, the Gropius Arcade in Rudow, is close to Adlershof. There you can visit restaurants, take in a movie or find your next favorite outfit.

WiFi

As long as you have an Eduroam access, you will be able to use the WiFi network of your university on our campus. For more information about Eduroam, click here. If you have any further questions about Eduroam, please contact your university or college. Everywhere in the village, where Eduroam can be received, there is also Free WiFi Berlin. Club

Got a reason to get together? All residents, as well as external guests, can book our Club for seminars or celebrations. Early booking is recommended. Please write to info@studenten-initiative.berlin

Gym

We have a fully equipped gym on campus with modern weight machines and benches. Get ready to get in shape!

Garden

The garden surrounding our village is popular with our residents. Here you can enjoy a bit of the outdoors with a picnic or barbecue with friends or some peaceful alone time with just you, a book and some sunshine.

Learning Lounge

Study without distractions in our silent workroom, the perfect place to read, write or prep for your next exam.

Launderette

We provide our residents with access to a modern launderette equipped with washing machines and dryers, easily payable with your debit or credit card (contactless payment only).

E-Mobility

If you have an electric vehicle, we have a charging station on hand.

Kindergarten

The Bees Nest
House 9 is home to the student village’s own German-English nursery, offering 10 spots to children under three and 20 spots for children over three. The nursery features a large garden and is staffed by a highly qualified team trained in the Montessori pedagogy. Residents of the village, HU employees and neighbors are welcome to apply.
